Rear bench conversions for the Ford Ranger Double Cab 2-Seat commercial. The seat is built and fitted, the first conversions are done, and we are booking now.
No deposit to enquire. Fitted in a day at our Chelmsford workshop.
The short version
Ford launched the Ranger 2-Seat in April. The rear bench came out, the side windows were blanked off and a bulkhead went in behind the front seats. It's a smart bit of product planning and the tax case speaks for itself, which is why they're selling.
The catch turns up about a month in. Somebody needs a lift to site. The kids need picking up. Suddenly you own a five seat shaped hole.
That's the job we're working on. A proper rear bench, put back into the Ranger 2-Seat by people who do this for a living.
PHOTO SLOT: images/as-delivered.jpgWhat's involved
Ford's conversion is thorough, so ours has to be too. Here's the shape of the work as it stands. Some of it is still being finalised with our seating partner.
The bulkhead behind the front seats comes out, along with the load floor and lining Ford fitted in the rear.
Ford blanks the rear windows off rather than taking the glass out, so the glass is still sitting in the door. We can strip the vinyl back off as an option on top of the conversion. Quoted on inspection.
A bench designed for this vehicle, trimmed to sit right against the Ranger's own interior. Not a part bin job. The backrest is fixed, but the seat base unfolds to form a mini-bulkhead, so you still get a barrier behind the front seats when you are carrying a load.
The Ranger's original belt mounting points are still there in the shell. We're working to a three belt setup off those points, and we'll publish the detail once it's signed off.
Panels, fixings and finishing so it looks like it left the factory that way. Then everything gets checked before the keys go back.
This is not a drawing or a press release. We have done it on real trucks, at our own unit, and we know what is behind every panel before we start on yours.
Roughly a day in the workshop. Bulkhead and load floor out, bench and three belts in on the factory mounts, cabin trimmed, truck home the same week.
Bring us yours and we'll tell you exactly what we found on the first two, including the bits Ford doesn't mention.
While it's with us
The expensive part of any job on a truck is getting the truck to the workshop and the trim off. Once yours is with us for the seats, that's already paid for, so anything else you want doing is a fraction of what it would cost as a separate visit.
We've been converting and kitting out commercial vehicles for years, so most things are on the table: canopies, load area protection and storage, 12V and auxiliary power, towing gear, lighting, styling and interior trim. Canopies go on here with a set of J-braces, and whatever else you want doing gets fitted in the same visit as the seats rather than as a second trip back. Prices depend on the kit and the spec, so bring your list up when we call and we'll price the lot together.

First photos of the seat in a Ranger. Three across the back, proper three point belts, and trim that sits with the factory interior rather than fighting it.

Questions
It might. Ford's whole case for the 2-Seat being a commercial rests on the rear seats being gone, so adding them back is not a neutral change. How it lands for you depends on your setup, your accountant and your lease or finance agreement.
We'd rather say that up front than let you find out later. Ask your accountant before you book, and ask us anything you like about the conversion itself. More detail here.
Partly, and we would rather be straight with you about where the line is. Ford blanks the windows off rather than removing the glass, so the glass is still there in the door. We can take the vinyl back off, which is an option on top of the conversion rather than part of it. Getting the switches driving the glass again is a separate piece of work we are still developing, so we are not selling it yet. Ask us and we will tell you exactly where we have got to.
Yes, though not by folding the seat away. The backrest is fixed. What moves is the seat base, which unfolds to form a mini-bulkhead, giving you a barrier behind the front seats when the back is loaded rather than an open cab.
Ford removed the belts, but the mounting points in the body shell are still there from the standard double cab. We're working to a three point belt setup using those original points. Full detail gets published once it's signed off, and nothing goes out of our unit until we're happy with it.
Not in the way our Defender seats come out. On a Defender the rear seats unbolt and the vehicle goes back to standard in an afternoon. This is a bigger job. The bulkhead and the load floor come out, the seat frame goes in and the rear cabin gets trimmed, so putting a Ranger back to 2-Seat spec means undoing all of that and refitting the parts Ford supplied. Keep hold of the bulkhead and load floor when we take them off and it can be done, but treat it as a second conversion rather than a quick swap.

We fit at customer premises across the UK, which is how we run the Defender side of things. The Ranger we would rather do at our unit in Chelmsford. Taking the bulkhead and load floor out is a workshop job, and anything else you want fitted at the same time is already here.
Ours is a purpose built bench from our seating partner rather than a salvaged factory seat. Genuine Ford rear seats for this vehicle are not something you can simply order, because Ford deletes them on the 2-Seat, so anyone fitting one is working from donor parts. A purpose built unit means we can supply consistently, and we know exactly what has been tested. Happy to talk through the difference if it matters to you.
The Ford Ranger Double Cab 2-Seat, 2026 on. It launched in Wildtrak with other trims following. If you're not sure what you've got on order, send the spec over and we'll tell you.
Yes, and we'd like to. If you're selling 2-Seats and getting asked about rear seats, there's an obvious conversation here. Pick "trade enquiry" on the form, ring 01245 904661, or email [email protected] and we'll come back to you directly.
